C3 corvette door glass install.

The front door glass stud has an access hole for nut installation. It gets tight between the seal strip and door opening on the inside. For power window corvettes raise the glass prior to disconnecting the battery. Start by disconnecting the battery.

First if your car is a 1953 1957 you will think the end is way longer then it needs to be. This is the nylon bushing closest to the a pillar. However it is designed this way so that it will fit both 1953 1957 and 1958 1959.

I snipped the 4 little prongs to get the old bushing removed and swapped over the o ring but for the life of me i cannot push hard enough to snap the new backing onto the new bushing. Our 7 16 socket is on the rear window glass retaining nut. On the 1953 1959 installation. The 7 16 screw to the right adjusts the upper door glass limit at the rear of the door.

Remember the door will be open for some time. Our project 77 corvette was a non power corvette so we could raise and lower the glass as needed. To gain access to your corvette s door components the glass must be in the up position. Watch the front glass to track stud as it goes past the outside seal strip.

The front window glass retaining nut is accessed through a hole in the inner door frame. Carefully slide the glass up all the way. Let the rear track fall into the door. Allow the rear lower corner of the glass to come completely out of the track and wiggle the roller clear of the door such that you now have the front roller still in the door in its track but the rear roller and bottom of the glass is completely clear of the door.
