As far as splicing power and gnd together as long as the current draw of the 2 combined isnt more than the mobo can handle you will be fine.
Can i connect multiple fans to one header.
Hello my motherboard has 1 rbg header.
So the motherboard asus b85m gamer i chose has only one fan header.
I read a few threads and i understood that i can connect two fans to one.
Such a splitter connects two.
In fact there are a number of ways to do so.
I should mention i am planning on using a fan hub to connect all the fans to power and run them with pwm control.
First if you know the power ratings of your fans and of your motherboard you may be able to use a splitter such as the rosewill case fan pwm cable splitter.
Use 75 of header rating to account for inrush current.
Also my mobo only has one 4 pin cpu fan header one 4 pin system fan header and one 3 pin system fan header.
Basically the block you attach to the cpu has a pump installed this pump head is powered by connecting the sata capable and there s also what looks like a 3 pin female that appears to connect to a fan header the pump is also connected to your motherboard by an internal usb connection the pump head also has two places where you can.
The only problem is that the motherboard i have only had one argb header.
I ve been scouring the internet for an answer and could only find answers for standard rgb.
Cooler master states that the fans are compatible with my motherboard without an rbg controller but how do i connect them all.
Could i connect two 3 pin fans to the 3 pin header and two more to the 4 pin header.
So again using that typical 140mm 1250 rpm fan 0 14 amps.
Is it possible to connect multiple argb to a single header with a splitter or something.
Some high end boards will have one or mor 2a headers.
Check the manual to see what current the fan header can give and compare it to the watt rating of the fans watts 12v amps.
I have a gigabyte ga b250m ds3h which has only 1 system fan header 4 pin and of course 1 cpu fan header.
However if they are identical fans monitoring one should reflect 2.
1250 rpm fans.
Which obviously isn t enough and the case i chose circle cc830 has 5 fans.
My case supports 4 120 mm fans.
I have a 420 rad in push pull and my logic went like this.
Use 83 of header rating to account for inrush current 1500 rpm fans.
I am buying 5 new case fans 3 masterfan pro 120 air flow and 2 masterfan pro 120 air pressure fans.
To keep the headers safe and last longer and keep my mobo from frying.
